On this day 50 years ago, Crystal Palace drew 0 - 0 at West Ham in a Div 1 game which I tried to attend but failed to make due to snow in South London. Some things have changed over the years - snow in S London for example - other haven't - Palace in 0-0 draws. Referee was Harold Williams of Sheffield.

Coincidentally, on this day 56 years ago, former FL ref Ken Aston (local to Selhurst Park) called off the 6th round FA cup tie between Palace and Leeds due to snow. I had queued for hours for a ticket but failed to get one, and in the end, it made no odds as Leeds eased their way towards the Final in the re-arranged game, 3-0. Match ref was Jim Finney of Hereford.
