I wish I could remember Palace v Southampton on Boxing Day 1972. I would have been there to see Palace get a rare 3-0 win in a season which ended with relegation. Two weeks earlier, they had slaughtered Man Utd 5-0 at Selhurst Park (ref John Hunting), so a purple patch in an otherwise dire season. Being Boxing Day, I would imagine the referee might have been fairly local, and Homewood or Sinclair come to mind, but I simply do not know. Can anyone help here or should I buy a programme which is available on E-Bay?
