Interestingly the Liverpool v Arsenal title-decider was a one-off rearranged fixture, and David had been appointed to the original game. It was probably as well for David, the TV companies and the many people who watched the game live on TV that the game was rearranged. Nothing like it had happened before and nothing like it has been seen since, with only Man City v QPR 2012 approaching it for end-of-season excitement.
