Neutrality I see apart from the Scotland v England game. I wonder whether a Scottish ref ever got to referee the S v E game. I attended the England v Scotland game in 1961 with my dad in what was termed the 'Hapless Haffey' game, when Scotland goalie Frank Haffey picked the ball out of the net no less than nine times in a 3-9 loss. England scored a 10th but it was correctly disallowed for handball against Jimmie Greaves. I have a programme tucked away somewhere in the loft, but I do remember that the ref was a neutral Frenchman by the name of Du Bois.
