I need to be careful, I'm told, but one can't help wondering the purpose of selecting three women referees if none have yet been used on-field?
I know some male colleagues are yet to be appointed too
, but the further a tournament progresses, the harder it will be to find a game. My view now is that if a women is appointed to two sides who can't qualify it will be worse than not appointing at all!
Tokenism? That's a view that could be held.
If the Rwandan, Japanese and French women referees were told, pre tournament, to come and soak up the atmosphere,
but expect nothing more, then is that a message known, or do they all still hope?
Or, being of an age where all three can be appointed to the next WC, has that been the plan ?
I respectfully raise this in conversation, hoping others can shed light ?
And, btw, this has been set in paragraphs. Why oh why it's been amended to make it look like I've been kept back a couple of years idk!
