Sounds like the VAR has gone down at Elland Road

Think it was all communications including goal line technology.  All seems to be working again now.

What was the actual reason for suspending the game for so long and taking the players off? If it was simply VAR/GLT not working I'd have thought they'd have carried on without it. I think this was close to happening in a Watford V Arsenal game a few years ago when there was a fire alarm at Stockley Park.

But obviously other things would also have been affected with the power cut.

PL rules I believe.

Apparently if VAR wasn’t working correctly (it was the comms link between SP and Elland Road that went down) then they would have had a PL official stood on the side of the pitch with a mobile phone to hand to the referee.

It seemed to miss an offside in the build up to the penalty so it’s still not working

It isn't just on the pitch.  If it was a power cut to the stadium then it presumably takes out the TV cameras, can't see the broadcasters that have paid millions to show it being best impressed if it is played with no power.

Well that is why I asked the question. I don't think a lack of VAR/GLT on its own should/would be enough to suspend the game, especially as they could still have continued with some ofrm of VAR as noted above presumably if it was just the issue of communication.

Obviously if there were wider issues over broadcasting, floodlights, security, etc. that's a whole different matter.

Nothing else was out at the time the referees comms went out, all the cameras, the score board, the lights, kiosks etc were all working.
