Yes I forgot to mention Cakir with the mascot! Indeed I saw a video recently of him with I think some kids of academy team in Turkey (could be totally wrong as I couldn't understand any of what was being said) again Cakir seemed to have a real affection for everyone, comes across as a very kind man. I'm sure that good nature helps with his refereeing. I loved his confidence in correctly going against VAR, very well handled I thought.

I think/hope we will get to see more of him in the series. He does come across as a lovely guy despite his mean and moody look! One of the best refs in recent years, I prefer his style since he relaxed a bit more and wasn't as strict as in his earlier days.

Agree totally, one of the finest referees I think we've seen, I think some of his performances in WC and CL games have been as good as we've seen. I hope he is in with a chance of the Euro final next year maybe then he won't just be remembered as the semi final man!!
