I thought it worked well in the Spurs v Man City game last night - reasonably quick, decisive and not too intrusive.  In fact, almost exactly how I imagined it could work.

The only downfall being it wasn’t a penalty...

I think it was more of a penalty than many others we've seen - based on how international referees have adjudicated handball over the past 12 months or so, I think a penalty was the right decision.
I agree - not really a penalty under the UK interpretation but in a UEFA tie. as soon as I saw it, I had little doubt it would be given.  That all needs sorting out but it didn't alter the fact that the VAR side of things seemed to go pretty smoothly.
