I would be interested to hear why ajb95 and dave26 think the tackle didn't warrant a red card, do you think it was a foul at all or just play on?

For me personally it is a nailed on red, yes he wins the ball but he lunges with both feet off the ground, at speed and makes contact with his studs into his opponents knee. I can't see how that doesn't endanger the safety of his opponent, but would be interested to hear others interpretations.

For me he doesn’t lunge in or have both feet off the ground. Players are allowed to slide in to tackle. He plays the ball and then there is contact which is inevitable given his foot is off the ground.
Every time a player goes in for a tackle there is going to be some kind of danger but that’s the risk of association football but no one is saying ban tackling (at the moment!)
