I found it quite interesting that Andy Woolmer seemed to put his red and yellow out the same notebook! I’ve not seen that at quite a high level before. It looked like he had one red and one yellow in the same notebook. I’ve seen some referees have a notebook with two yellow cards in but never have I seen it that way at such a high level.

Danny Makkelie had both cards in his notebook until quite recently. I think he's gone back to having them in separate pockets again now but only the last month or so.
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

If I were officiating I’d use Simon Hoopers’  style of cards, one with the notebook inside with the cover all yellow.

However, I’m not sure where he gets his from.

One of the few positives of being in League Two is that we seldom get SG2 referees so we haven't had the dubious pleasure of a visit from Andy Woolmer. The downside is that we get a lot of Alan Young.

Alan Young doesn’t seem to get great reviews on here when he officiates.

Dear Dear. Dreadful refereeing. So if the ball hits you its a YC? Surely everyone would just let it hit them now?

Nothing from blatant time wasting.

Should be two yellows for the west brom player.

What exactly did the stoke player do wrong?

Are you seriously asking that question?  He's thrown the ball at a player not looking at him, not with any force so it isn't violent conduct, but he then does it again.  Once he might get away with, twice he is really asking for trouble, and doing that when already on a yellow card is just sheer stupidity.

He didn't throw it AT him, he threw it TO him, twice.  Too often teams get away with blatant time wasting with no attempt by the referee to deal with it.

No, he threw it at him, I did say without any force but I don't see how there can be any doubt that it was thrown at him, twice, and on both occasions the opponent wasn't looking.  Had he rolled it to his feet and he then didn't pick the ball up then I agree, you are then in the grounds of cautioning for delaying the restart, but he didn't.  He tried to take the law into his own hands and it backfired on him, he only has himself to blame.

The long lamented A&H used to sell a notebook with a yellow card on both sides of the inside front cover and a red on on both sides of the inside back cover.  You could then use the notebook to record the caution / sending off and then use the appropriate inside cover to show the card.  Simples.

So do you think he threw it at/to him because he wanted to hit him (gently) with it or so he could get on with the game ?  And the reason the opponent wasn't looking the second time was because he was too busy feigning a pathetic potential injury after having the ball bounce gently off him. Which player was the greater afront to the integrity of the game? I know which I think and I think anyone who thinks otherwise, including presumably the way past his best Andy Woolmer, is lacking in empathy for the game.

He threw it at him to get a reaction, especially the second time.  In any case, it appears he wasn't sent off for the ball throwing, rather what he said to the referee afterwards.
