GLT doesn't seem to be a thing across Eastern Europe.  In Hungary it's down to the costs of installing it, Dr Csányi has openly said it is too expensive to install & set up. I assume it's the same in our surrounding countries.

As obvious as it looks on a frozen picture we have no context for how it happened, pace of attack, position of AR. A yard up the line and you wont see the ball through the post.

Exactly and we shouldn’t have to rely on them rushing into a position. For the most important part of football, we should have GLT

FIFA are rolling in cash so they should install GLT in at least one stadium in each country.

It presumably was used in the recent Champions League matches which were played in Hungary.

We don't have it installed in any stadiums.

Bear in mind Brunty boy very few of our stadiums outside the NBI even have floodlights installed. Those that do tend to be ex NBI teams. Cup games are often played at lunchtime due to the no floodlights issue.  újpest, the oldest club in our league & considered one of the big teams have only just had undersoil heating within the past year - 18 months.  The image below is one side of Budafok's ground - they are an NBI team!

Totally agree, it shouldn't be an optional extra depending on finances!  ???

They could/should install it in every national stadium at the very least.  Our stadium is brand new, it only opened in November 2019 but no GLT included.

Then if GLT is too expensive and I agree for lots of teams and or associations the cost will be too much wouldn't AARs be a cheaper and better option?

Don't UEFA temporarily install the system if a team that doesn't have it makes the Champions League Group Stages?

We use the AAR system domestically & it works very well.

Since this is a FIFA competition and the rule is that the whole refereeing team must be FIFA listed, I am pretty sure that they don't have enough people with a FIFA badge in order to use AAR's.

Correct - it is installed in the Puskás Aréna where, amongst others, Liverpool played both legs of the match against RB Leipzig.

Ironically, It is also installed in the Stadion Rajko Mitić where the Serbia - Portugal match took place but obviously UEFA/FIFA have not permitted it’s use.

Reported elsewhere that Makkelie has apologised on behalf of his team for failing to award the goal. If nothing else I have more respect for him now. He goes on to say they try as hard as they can to get everything right but failed.
Bravo!
