So very sad to hear about the below.
It has no place in our game, hope the culprits are identified and dealt with accordingly by the clubs/Fa/Police, but somehow doubt it.

This is sad indeed to hear - but it seems to be a reflection on behaviour generally not just in football - I cannot think of anything that will stop this kind of behaviour but we must not give up trying

Absolutely no place for it in football (or life in general for that matter). What disturbs me further is some of the comments on social media such as "officials need to man up", "why shouldn't I shout abuse? I've paid my money" and "it's football". With attitudes like those prevailing, it's going to be a long uphill climb to eradicate the problem.

If you are disturbed by things you read on social media, I suggest you give it a miss.

How many points do you want to take of Darlington for alleged "misogynistic remarks from one or two Darlington fans." ?

From what i have heard and read both sets of fans were culpable at different times during the match.
So i guess both sides would have to lose points if that were the punishment.

Personally I am over the defence of "it is only one or two fans" or a "handful of fans". While we accept this, there will be no improvement. When points are deducted then the silent majority might stand up for their team and do something. As a referee who has been verbally and physically abused, including being verbally abused when I have gone to watch a game, I am over the people with the attitude of I have paid my money so I am entitled to say what I want. In the end it was the amount of abuse that caused me to leave the field and I left at a decent level here in Australia.

Perhaps I should have said concerned rather than disturbed and yes, I am concerned by fans who think making such comments at a match is part and parcel of football and acceptable behaviour, nemesis. I would hope that many people would be concerned too.
