Sandro Scharer, RB Leipzig v Man City
« on: Tue 07 Dec 2021 21:07 »
For a game with not a lot riding on it, at least for Man City, the 2nd half (which is all I saw) was feisty to say the least, with a feeling that the Swiss ref was not always in control. However, give Scharer his due, his decision to red card Walker for lunging at the back of an opponent's leg was spot on, and City must be ruing the decision to keep their key England defender on the pitch long after it became clear that he was losing his rag, and will now miss a key game at the KO stage. Not a good night for City and their management and not a particularly good 2nd half for the referee.

As a City fan I have to say that Walker is a complete idiot and tonight’s team performance was mediocre at best

Yeah but Domi... Good to see Dominic Szoboszlai back on form after his long injury.

Disgraceful scenes in the Athletico Madrid v Porto game near the dugout involving players and coaching staff. Both sides ended up with 10 players, but didn't see enough of the game to be able to comment on the performance of Clement Turpin.
