M.V. Matyunin, who referees in the second tier of Russian professional football, has been banned for life from all football-related activity by the Russian F.A. He was found to taken a bribe from the executive director of one of the teams involved in a cup match in 2018 and to have refereed the fixture in a manner which consistently favoured the team in question. The now ex-director in question has been given a similar ban, and the result has been changed to a 3-0 win for the non-bribing team (which seems a slightly odd thing to do in a cup competition that is long-since over and done with).
