Without wishing to rake up any controversy about the honours system, may I congratulate Roy Hodgson on the award of a CBE in the Queen's Birthday honours list. Call me biased if you like, but if ever an individual deserved an honour 'for services to football', Roy was the man.
Fully deserved. And if he had been a wealthy donor to the Tory Party or some relatively unknown long-serving backbench toady who always towed the party line it would have been “Sir Roy” for sure!
