Mr Jovanovic had an extremely poor game and looked well out of his depth in all honesty, without there being any major decisons in the game. The only decisions that could have been considered anywhere near ‘big decisions’ were:
Penalty appeal for a foul on Fofana by Smalling after 3 minutes for a holding offence from a corner. Appeared to be a clear foul, but a subjective decision and I can support VAR not getting involved.
Possible red card for Mancini after 41 minutes for SFP. Again I can support a yellow card here but VAR wouldn’t have overturned a red.
Other than that, a host of basic decisions called incorrectly. Listed below to the best of my memory:
First Half:
Handball called against Dewsbury-Hall despite it being hit against his face.
Incorrect fouls given against Dewsbury-Hall, Vardy, Ricardo, Pellegrini and Karsdorp.
Second Half:
Missed yellow card for Evans for reckless foul from behind.
Incorrect fouls given against Dewsbury-Hall, Karsdorp and Zaniolo.
Obvious errors when giving a goal kick instead of a corner (Perez) and throw to Roma instead of Leicester (Justin).
Correct caution for Fofana and Maddison.
It must also be said he got the red card for Chris Evans after the final whistle correct, assuming he has said something out of turn.
Very disappointing for a UEFA semi final, albeit the lesser of the competitions.
