R EAST - Bournemouth v Wolves
« on: Sat 23 Feb 2019 15:23 »
Sounds like Grandad is enjoying is day by the seaside.... a yellow inside 2 mins, a 50/50 penalty and another very strong penalty claim resulting in a card for Jota for complaining.

Did bmb forget to clean his parking space?!

Grandad is having a complete nightmare this afternoon!!!

How on earth is the THIRD penalty of the afternoon given! It’s clearly outside the box and fortunately King blazed wide.

The second one....the Bournemouth defender didn’t get the circle of doom for two yellows.

9 yellows in total... and to cap it all off the sprinklers come on in injury time!!

If you get a chance to watch the whole game you won’t be disappointed!!

He's getting absolutely slated on twitter by both sets of fans!!

Thank goodness I chose Újpest v DVTK as my match of choice for the day!

He was absolutely terrible. For pure comedy value it probably would have been worth watching it!!

On a serious note, we can’t have this kind of dross happening ever again. It was appalling.

BBC have said 3 dubious penalties, the Daily Mail report isn't much better - "Roger East may need a rather large brandy by his side when he sits down to fill out his refereeing report from this match at the Vitality Stadium. After all, you know it's bad when both sets of supporters leave singing: 'You're not fit to referee.' This was a tale of three penalties given, a blatant fourth that was not and a total of ten yellow cards shown. Indeed some of East's decisions left Bournemouth and Wolves equally baffled. It was a bizarre evening of football, one which ended with the Vitality's sprinklers interrupting play in stoppage time, and the man in black will not have many busier days than this." The bloke from the S*n says 3 shocking decisions!

Sounds like whoever asked who to swap games is not going to be very popular as it was by all accounts a rather dreadful day at the office.

Nuno was absolute class in his response.  We're quick to mention managers when they shout about a ref post match but he was absolute class. Wish there were more like him.

A consequence of a botched job legal wise when they first drew up the “contracts” for the PGMO - and the inability to remove anyone due to age?

In short - setting fire to the perfectly good National List covering all four divisions where appointments were done on merit and not just because you are luckily in a small band of unaccountable referees who might get to go to Notts County once in a blue moon if things got *really* bad.

Time for east to do the honourable thing and retire - out of his depth at this level!

We always would. Hooper is popular at AFCB. He's "grown up" refereeing us while we "grew up" as a team. Always a good place for him to come if he's had a stinker elsewhere as he gets a good reception and it helps his confidence.

Exactly the same as Walton.... as soon as things get awkward then it falls apart spectacularly... I remember the Newcastle v Arsenal game many years ago that Walton made a complete dogs dinner of.

This was twice as worse today.

Should move to Spain; from these accounts he'd be a shoe in for Champion's League games.

I think the first two penalties were correctly awarded. The third was outside the area but a close call. I can't really comment other than that.
