It was an 11.30 kick-off for

Saturday 29th May 2021
Yorkshire Trophy Third Place Play-Off
Brighouse Town   3   v   3   Golcar United
Henry Naylor (Halifax); Danielle Whitworth, Lewis Dawson.

Worrying times for Brighouse ?

No doubt, nemesis. That has been the case for the last 21 months, so we are accustomed to it. The more worrying feature is that geographical considerations might mean that relegation would deposit Brighouse in the NWCFL rather than the more comfortable NCEFL, which seems to be gradually migrating Southwards. On the bright side, 2022 might produce a return to the FA Vase.

I was thinking more drastic than that. With Irama Sport's "eviction" of Whyteleafe FC and Abingdon Town from their stadiums (and the two teams' withdrawals from their leagues), it was suggested that Brighouse's ground might be similarly vlnerable. I hope not.
