Promotions to 2a and 2b now out.
Seems a few have gone straight through to 2a in a year.
Anyone with full list, please post!

We were informed last year of the promotions to SG1 on 29 May (day after Bank Holiday Monday) so perhaps we will have more updates in this regard next week - that said, we had receive some information on the five names being considered and attending assessment days which hasn't been the case this year so who knows.

With the confirmation on another thread that 5 Championship referees will be appointed to act as VARs, I think that promotions to the SG1 will be very much limited.

I think that Andy Madley will almost certainly be promoted as a replacement for Roger East, given that Madley has been close for a while and is the only SG2 referee to do trial Premier League games this season.

That might be it - at the most I could see one other referee being promoted to restore the group to 18 as it was before Bobby Madley's departure last summer. One of Jones, Robinson or possibly Bankes would seem the most likely to fill that gap if applicable. I can't think of a recent example where a SG2 referee has been promoted without doing a trial game though which makes me think it might just be A Madley, although personally I think Jones should definitely be promoted too at the very least.

Looking through social media, it seems like a fair few referees have been promoted to level 2A (although I could be wrong as ive seen names in drips and drabs which could b deceiving!) Could this indicate that they are replacing a few refs who are going to be promoted to the EFL?

Thanks for the info - am I right in thinking 13 is slightly higher than usual? For some reason I thought it was always around 10?

Mackem ref, last year there was 12 promoted to 2A and 18 to 2B so 2A to 2B was similar but more from 3to 2B this year.

Not a surprise this for me.

Many 2b referees last year were officiating more than was ideal, once you consider 4th official appointments as well.

Hopefully this will mean a better balance regarding appointments and travel with work and family committments.

So now last gasp 4-3's are being announced. Is this possibly what's causing delay with the full lists ?
Seems the FA have misjudged the numbers required for steps 2 - 4.

Congratulations to all - thoroughly deserved after great seasons!

Further promotion news on twitter from Trevor Massey suggests that Matt Donahue has been promoted to SG2 after his first season on the FL list!
