He could be the next Michael Oliver…

What's wrong with being the first Ruebyn Ricardo?  :)

I have always been surprised (well, not really) by how many officials who get promoted have jobs within football already

The first and only Ruebyn Ricardo I should think, especially with that spelling.

However the potential to one day be compared to Michael Oliver is a great compliment.

Indeed, we have to look to the future.

Shades of when the Rugby League published the list of World Cup officials, wrongly including John Elliott rather than Deryck Brown.

All of the promotions to Levels 4 through to 2A (and Assistant Referees to Step 1 and Step 2) should have gone out last night from The FA. This would include the corrected 2B promotion emails. I am sure the full list will emerge towards the end of the Bank Holiday weekend.

It also appears that PGMOL have decided on promotions to the National List (Level 1 EFL Referee). According to the Royal Navy FA Referees twitter feed, Scott Jackson has been promoted. - That tweet has now disappeared, so cannot confirm.

Aaron Farmer from Colchester, best known in East Anglia as Alan Young's accomplis in the debacle against Wycombe a couple of years or so back, has been promoted to Level 2A. Congratulations.

John Mulligan has also been promoted to Level 2A to referee in the National League Premier next season.
