Championship: Attwell
League 1: Brooks/Gilbert
League 2: Hicks or Breakspear

Gilbert Napthine?
Now there is an interesting character from the past.

Saw Napthine only once, at Highbury. He had a very good match I seem to recall. Being located in the middle of England ( Loughborough ) wasn't he one of that band of referees who officiated at every League ground in the country?

I wonder which team he supported.  I don't recall seeing him at OT but I'm sure he must have refereed there.
This from 2013:

What a delightful story. It's good to see someone who has given so much to the game of football, receiving such recognition. I am sure he felt enormously honoured.  Tempus fugit; the referee I remember had a shock of black hair !  Napthine is, to me, a most unusual name. I have never ever come across it apart from Gilbert.
