Can they seriously stop putting this ex refs on var they have all made bowlers this season and how Lee Mason failed to pick up 2 offsides in the build up to Brentford’s goal is just staggering, it could cost us the title it certainly cost us 2 points today, but from the bits I did see on MOTD the shots out weight what Brentford had to us looked like the dominated, but the stats say otherwise, I did think Peter Bankes did ok from the bits I seen he got let down by the VAR like a lot of the referees have this season,

Please stop with the "it cost us 2 points". You were lucky not to concede 3 before then. So give it up please.

This is the annual Arsenal meltdown, isn't it?

Nope there was 2 other shocking reckons in other matches to and most of the mistakes are being made by specialist VAR’s most of the time, it’s either Dean, Mason and now Swarbrick, maybe they either need better training or in Swarbricks case as he used to be the Head of VAR, I don’t want to say fired as that is probably a tad harsh, and it looks like he has already been demoted but maybe they need to do away with the specialist var roles

Yes it did cost them two points. Doesn’t matter that they where lucky not to concede 3 but they didn’t. Then they defended a set piece well but referee incompetence suggested otherwise.

Tbf, you’ve ranted about refs a few times on here.

I didn’t actually Criticise the ref, but I wasn’t the only mistake made by the VAR’s yesterday, I said the ref was ok but he got let down by the VAR

Pinnock was originally when the free kick came in and then Norgaard was when he crossed for Toney to score

No it didnt cost them two points because if the goal had been disallowed you dont know how the rest of the game would have played out.

Agree, in the Wolves game you could argue that the harsh early red card would cost Wolves 3 points. Often that is the case but not always. You do not know what would have happened if a goal had been disallowed or a decision gone another way.
In rugby union, TMO has in the past made some howlers, focusing on one marginal incident while ignoring another which was clear cut and obvious. Tunnel vision? If it is any consolation, rugby TMOs have improved and I am sure the PGMOL will get it right.

One other point, can this all be placed at the door of Lee Mason? dont we have an assistant referee on var also, who i would say would have a big input in offside decisions. Having said that the person with Lee in the var booth yday hasnt helped Simon Hooper on field on occasions this season.

If I've said it once I've said it a million times - Lee Mason should be nowhere near Premier League football.
