Paul Tierney - Arsenal V Huddersfield
« on: Sat 08 Dec 2018 23:58 »
An interesting offside decision, whereby the Arsenal player was in an offside position when the ball was played forwards and made some movement. The Huddersfield player then played the ball back and the Arsenal player in question got the ball and scored but was given offside from the initial phase.

There was also an unusual (possibly unprecedented?) situation with three Arsenal players receiving yellow cards for simulation in the same match. Most of them looked justified to me.

9 yellows in total as well.... most of them look justified to boot.

I agree it was an interesting situation with the Arsenal offside, and I think Tierney and his AR got the call correct; and it was good that the commentator on MOTD acknowledged that the offside call was in respect of the ball being played forward by an Arsenal player rather than the ball being played back by a defender.

Full marks to Paul for spotting the three simulations by Arsenal players and punishing them accordingly. When will players learn?!  ::)
