P TIERNEY: LFC V AFC

He started off well but he's well and throughly lost the plot in old Tierney fashion in the last 5 or 10 minutes unfortunately. If the heat keeps on rising in the game I fear for him.

Also Henderson pushing Hatzadakis and only yellow 😜

No he hasn't, the players have.

If Arsenal don't get three points here and that ends up costing them the league there will be one person to blame, and that isn't Paul Tierney.  It will be Granit Xhaka, his total lack of discipline has moved this game from Arsenal being totally in control to it now being in the balance.

There's a few refs in SG1 who just seem to struggle when the temperature of a game rises, and it ends up being like the wild west

Tierney, Kavanagh & Coote are probably the worst three.

Allegation that Constantine Hatzidakis has caught a Liverpool player in the throat at half time with his elbow

For me Hatzidakis should have the book thrown at him after the pictures I’ve just seen if we want players to have it thrown at them for similar incidents

Just incredible to see an official elbows a player. He should be replaced for the second half and the book thrown at him.

Maybe it’s a push away from robertson’s grab, nice to see officials backing fellow officials😀

Overall, I think Tierney has had a fairly good game so far but totally overshadowed by the conduct of Constantine Hatzidakis.

One criticism of Tierney would be dishing out the yellow card to Alexander-Arnold for his (justifiable) protests.

I think there should be a calm reflection of the evidence and to hear from all relevant parties before the proverbial “book” is thrown at anyone (if at all).

Would be surprised if that’s a police charge to be honest. Not part of the game is it?

Only 2 people know what’s occurred here and video footage is not enough to start throwing the book at people. I find it interesting that Robertson hasn’t reacted, (in the clips I have seen) no protest to the referee, no refusal of Liverpool to come out in the second half. All things that you would fully expect if a match official had “assaulted” a player.

People should be very cautious about slinging accusations until the evidence is out

Seems officials get a lot more benefit of the doubt here than players.

Video evidence was enough to convict mitrovic but not enough here
