P TIERNEY: LEEDS V MAN UTD

Extremely difficult game to referee. Inconsistent with yellow cards and a few fouls given that weren't and a few not given that were. Overall not too bad, I've seen him do worse. I've also seen better. Also Neil Davies should NOT be on the FIFA list, when the likes of Robothan, Mainiwaring and Smith aren't, because today and over the last few times I've seen him he's made some awful mistakes.

I think Adam has a fair point regarding Neil Davies , while I’m sure he has to work hard to get to where he is he does make easy mistakes on a regular basis , thought overall Tierney was decent today

I was at the game. Agree with Adam. Mr Tierney was very inconsistent with the use of yellow cards  so much do it was poor. The assistant Mr Davies was in near me and he made some bad mistakes. He seemed to wait for the referee to make a decision then flag. Sometimes that was wrong.

To defend Mr Davies, i would say he was possibly carrying out the pre match instructions of the referee, or if he wasnt sure advising the referee via comms so he could make the decision.
I know two wrongs dont make a right but both referee and assistant agreeing on a decision looks better.

Exactly, it is called teamwork.  Pre-comms it was done by using discreet low down flag and arm signals, with comms they no longer need to.  Much better a correct delayed decision than the referee and AR simultaneously signalling in opposite directions.
