P Tierney - Chelsea vs Leicester

Not Mr Tierney’s worst game but still not without controversy.

The 2 yellow cards for Gallagher don’t come much easier so no complaints there.

Penalty awarded for Chelsea in the first half can be described as extremely soft, thankfully he was bailed out by an offside in the build up and VAR correctly overturned.

Leicester goal ruled out in the second half for a foul by Barnes on Mendy. Again, extremely soft but that’s what we’ve come to expect when an attacker is challenging a goal keeper.

General foul detection was okay in the main. Chants of ‘are you Taylor in disguise’ from the home supporters… are they referring to refereeing performance or hair style????

The disallowed goal call was wrong in my opinion. Mendy was grabbing onto Barnes as much as the other way, he also made attempt to get near the ball.

Clear foul by Tielemans for the penalty IMO. You can't use your shoulder to take someone out below waist height

Obvious cautions both times for Gallagher.

I agree with the foul called against Barnes on Mendy for the disallowed goal - Barnes has moved into Mendy in the first place in order to block him.

Barnes had his arm around Mendy's shoulder, that is a clear foul.
