Just had a very WTF have I just watched time in this one!

Few nasty fouls and absolute stupidity from both teams & both sets of players should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Ref seemed to be handling it pretty ok. Absolutely insane moment about 10/15 mins before the end where a NI player seemingly had an Austria player in a choke hold. Even the replays were a bit unclear as to how it came about. Looked like a foul by NI, bit of an exaggerated fall by the lad from Austria who then threw himself backwards and ended up being held in a choke hold by the NI lad - bizarre! It brought on a bit of handbags and 2 players, 1 from each side booked. Ref did look a bit flustered during that. I'm still scratching my head as to what the ... I just watched!

Love my green & white army, they are my home nation but I'm pretty ashamed of some of their conduct today.

I think Mcauley was having a bit of a laugh when he grabbed Arnautovic who overreacted, then David Alaba came flying in and made the whole thing a lot worse.

Cheers. I'm still sat here scratching my head over exactly what happened & have a did I really just see that thought bouncing in my head & no I've not been on the whiskey! It looked dreadful! I'd not really been concentrating in the few moments before as I scoffed down dinner and only had 1 eye on the match!

Like you, I only saw this as background noise whilst involved with something else, was the one on the bottom trying to bite the other?

Who knows QuoCob! Maybe Rustyref who was obviously concentrating more than you or I will have the answer to that one! I'm still completely baffled by it!

Hope he is at least less baffled than I am!

I thought the ref was fine to be fair, but that one incident has left me questioning my sanity!!!

I read that as one trying to bite the other on the bottom for a minute …  :)

I didn't see any biting, but I too wasn't exactly concentrating on it.  It looked to me that Mcauley fell on Arnautovic then was a little slow to get off, this annoyed him and he reacted but nothing major, then Alaba took it all out of context and came flying in and escalated it from nothing to something.
