Reading everyone’s thoughts on this, it all seems a tad harsh... if the official isn’t sure then surely they can’t be expected to guess and give a goal? In my opinion you’re always better to not give something you can’t be 100% sure of?

If you're 90% certain, surely best to give it.

Not giving a goal deprives a team of a goal.

Giving an incorrect one gifts a team a goal.

The damage is the same  - plus or minus a goal.

Referees and assistants spend a lot of time guessing anyway.
