As Nemesis has said many times the best referees may not make the best VAR/coach/instructor/manager.
Mark C has many qualities but whether planning, coaching, educating are amongst them I dont know.
Also throughout his book he criticised the "establishment" and yet all these posts would seem to involve playing nicely with the powers that be.

Yes, he is gone from Greece now. I am happy about it even though, I was his supporter when he came.

The only thing that he cared about was his big contract and appointments. No development, foreign referees even in SL2 (2nd league). He was never interested to renew the referees and observers lists. Especially the observers list on all 3 categories are pretty much the same since 2018. Former referees who are observers for over 20 years, old enough who are only interested for their fee. Nothing to contribute, no help on the referees.

IMO his biggest mistake is that he never took the time to learn the referees (especially on SL2 and 3rd league). These referees are the future.

Seems it not the head of refereeing that is actually the problem in Greece... All the time the Federation "allow" the top 5/6 clubs to dictate who they will allow to referee their matches the Head of refereeing has no chance to improve refereeing there.

The new Head of Refereeing Steve Bennett decided to appoint a Greek referee (Sidiropoulos) to the Athens derby Panathinaikos - AEK.

The appointment leaked on Wednesday on the media. Then fans on the social media started questioning his integrity and his intentions.

On Thursday Bennett announced the appointments for MD4 and Sidiropoulos was indeed appointed on Panathinaikos - AEK. Then the 3 big teams (Olympiakos, PAOK, Panathinaikos) protested and asked for foreign referees.

The HFF president asked from Bennett to annul the appointment and he request was accepted. Bennett had to search for a foreign referee or the match will be cancelled.

An unbelievable and unacceptable situation.....

Georgi Kabakov has been appointed as the last-minute replacement referee in Athens derby on Sunday.
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!

The biggest issue is that the federation (FA) is not independent. 1 club controls it board. With the support of another club.
I know that I know nothing
