Martin Coy

I had the unfortunate pleasure of watching Martin Coy referee the match between Bury and Newport, and I have to say his performance was the worst I have experienced in years.
I believe the guy is in his second season in the FL.
His inconsistency was second to none. Players were getting away with cynical tackles but he was pulling up on nothing tackles. He was waving play on (fine) for terrible fouls, but not then taking the player to task when there was a break in play.
I could go on. I’m afraid I have not been so annoyed  by a refereeing performance for a long long time. He seemed to love the criticism being thrown his way during the match.

The main fault of Mr Coy from when I saw him in the middle in the NL was a failure to clamp down on the really bad challenges, while being over fussy with minor infringements. It doesn't sound like he's improved.

That absolutely sums him up to perfection.

I was so incensed with his display that I wrote to the FL. Needless to say I have been totally ignored. When clubs are trying to interact more with supporters the FL continue with their arrogance.
