Mark Clattenburg is of the opinion that Dean got the big calls right and IMHO I felt so too. This business about high elbows is generally confusing - players naturally jumping for the ball do have their hands and elbows up high and inevitably someone will get clattered. Provided there is no intent I guess it is play on as the laws are written but it is potentially dangerous but what is the answer? You cannot penalise someone based on outcome unless you go down the rugby union route and that would be open to all sorts of problems regarding interpretation. Top marks to the two guests in the Sky studio for their balanced comments.
