Jas is currently still at the club as caretaker manager & he'd have my 100% support if he took the role. I have a lot of love for Jas. Today is however a sad day for the club and the town.

A sad day indeed with what Eddie and Jas have achieved over a period of time. To be honest, I can't see Jason staying on without Eddie, I think that he would feel that he is being disloyal, however, I could be wrong. Chin up bmb, it's football and there is nothing ever certain, however, it is only a game no matter how much money is thrown at it or how much they try to make it 100% perfect.

I am shocked they have let Eddie go. I thought they would of given him the chance to carry on considering how well he has done on such a small budget.
Wonder if he will be favourite for the Bristol City job now.

Is there any reason to believe it's not Howe's decision?

I was expecting them to agree with a parting of the ways. Howe's been there a very long time for modern football and I think it's the right time for him to move on for his career.

If Bournemouth actively wanted him out they should have done iti n January!

Blake saying “A decision like this cannot be taken lightly, which is why this has been discussed together at length over the past few days. It is even harder given our close personal friendship."

I'm sure he would be welcome at Wigan provided he's not a "Southern softie"  ;)

Well that shows how much I know! Jason Tindall appointed manager with a 3 year deal.
I have to admit that I was a little surprised, mind you, I wonder if he could appoint Eddie as his assistant?  ;D

Looks like Uncle Jas will be joined by Uncle Purchy (Stephen Purches) as his assistant - one happy bmb jr!

Probably the only 2 people who would have my 100% backing to carry on what Eddie started! Love my Jas, have done for 21 years and will always back him. Really proud of him & pleased for him.

I wonder whether Jason will do what Sean Dyche did at Burnley when he took over from Eddie?
We had been leaking goals and conceded 29 in 13 games, he tightened things up and in the remaining 33 games we conceded just 31 goals and picked up 50 points.

I shall be watching with interest and wish them well.

Jas as a player - his idea of defending was hoooof! Often used to joke with him about how many balls ended up on the roof of the sovereign centre!!! (shopping centre about 1 mile from the ground)

I used to go and watch Weymouth when he was manager there, 14 years ago. They played nice football. Marcus Browning (the origin of bmb) was his assistant. His win rate was lowish - 38% but he has matured a lot since then & he has most certainly not been a silent partner in the Eddie & Jason team of the past 11 years. He came up with a lot of the set play pieces for a start. Sure will be interesting seeing him go out on his own now. He has a 21 year affiliation to the club, there is a bond & a love for the club that we'd not get with an outsider.

1983 was the last time we appointed a manager with no links to the club. Since then it's been ex players or internal promotions!
