Kissing an Opponent on the lips??
« on: Sun 12 Mar 2023 13:55 »
Just seen this on the Norwich v Sunderland Game.
A bit of a tussle on the side lines both players ended up face to face the Sunderland player then kissed his opponent on the lips.
Does anyone think action should/could have been taken

It's not the friendship trophy for nothing.

I'd say grabbing a player by the throat probably should have led to some action

I'm surprised it's not compulsory nowadays
If Black and White is so brilliant why do most of us have colour tellies

Yellow apiece required for me.  I appreciate that the situation was "managed" and kept under control but this can't be tolerated.  In addition to which O'Nien had become a bit of an unguided missile on the pitch; a yellow for him at that stage might just have calmed him (and the game) down.  An opportunity missed.

It's a shame we couldn't have kissed goodbye to Tim Robinson. He had a shocker and the yellow card he issued to Danny Batth was such a joke he should donate his match fee to Comic Relief.

The tackle by baath was a textbook sliding tackle timed to perfection.

I didn't get to see all of the game but my favourite was the aarons dive how he has gave a free kick there I will never know

Could it be considered as sexual harassment/assault?

I totally agree, but didn't want to comment as you get the "you only commented because you lost". I will say Sunderland fully deserved to win.

I think Robinson was shocking, his foul detection was awful, there were 34 fouls! every time someone was touched or fell over he gave a foul, his threshold was so low, his playing of advantage was non existent, and all credit to Sunderland and their expert timewasting which was allowed from the 15th minute without any meaningful action apart from having a chat with their captain mid way through the second half. Will be glad to  see him in the premiership next season.

Yes, but not expecting any action by the referee to report it or for the FA to act.

“Reward” is an F A Cup quarter this weekend.

I didn’t have a dog in the race for this match but Tim Robinson, normally a good referee, did have a poor game and I thought his foul detection was well below his normal standards.

Wouldn’t normally criticise a referee and would blame the player when an official is deceived by simulation but it was disappointing the serial simulator Max Aaron’s dive when there was no hint of contact fooled such an experienced official. To be fair I could understand him being fooled by a dive by McLean because it was slightly more convincing and there was at least contact even though no foul was committed.

Fully expect a return to form for Robinson next time out.

 Oh come on........lighten up.

It was no more than a bit of fun and nowhere near what Tony Currie and Alan Birchenall did fifty years ago which has been seen millions of times since.

So as a ref you would have targeted him then ? Yes he is enthusiastic but an " unguided missi!e" is unfair.

Targeted in the sense that he had become a persistent offender?  Yes.

I think what was viewed as appropriate and inappropriate contact and behaviour back then was somewhat different to what it is today
