Last minute VAR intervention and similar scenario to the Newcastle game.. definite penalty and a card.

With what I’ve seen from friend this season he looks very off the pace. Normally you’d get a middle of the road type performance mixed in with some good performances. Tonight - nothing majorly wrong but didn’t lose that same authority he had before, positioning was off as well.
8 yellows in a game that didn’t look hard to referee..?

I actually thought that Friend refereed the game well and was in control.  There was 8 yellows which is usually quite high but given there were 4 fouls in the 1st few mins showed what both teams were about.  I thought all the cards were justified and maybe could have booked Forshaw earlier if honest.

I can’t see how you can think it wasn’t a difficult game as from my view it looked tetchy and needed refereeing. Only being out there in the middle would we know what it’s like.   As a level 5 myself observers have said to me that it was an easy game when I found it mire challenging so I suppose it’s how abs what we do.

Positioning at times was quite central but seemed to move alright.  Better movement than some of the other refs.

Overall I though a decent performance

Also forgot to mention. I thought Hooper did well as VAR to highlight the handball.  Easy when looking again and not easy to see I would have thought on the pitch.  As said in earlier post, pretty much the same as Madley’s

As a Palace fan, I'm disappointed that Palace have once again thrown away points via v late goals, that's six points this season that I can remember. I will leave judgment on the award until after I've seen MOTD tonight but it sounds as though the decision was correct rather than harsh, as suggested last night on the radio.
