Jon Moss

I saw that Jon Moss dismissed Maupay after the final whistle for presumably using offensive, insulting or abusive language. I can't recall the last time a player was sent off for this in the PL? I presume whatever was said must have been quite bad as PL referees usually seem to have an extremely high standard for this. Glad to see Jon Moss applying the laws in this regard.

Jon hadn't dismissed a player all season and today notches two up on his belt.
Dunk certainly couldn't complain and Maupay just went off it at the end of the  game and Jon had no hesitation in producing the card.

I thought that Jon had a steady game and Maupay needs to concentrate on his own failings of scoring once in his last 17 PL matches, instead of trying to blame officials.
Referee's decision used to be final!

Good to see the often harshly maligned Jon Moss getting some praise on here and great to see him deal so positively with whatever was said.
I think he has had a very steady season and can feel happy with his general performances over the last 9 months.

Particularly this season, I have noticed in some cases a complete disregard for dissent and foul, abusive/ insulting behaviour by officials. This simply finds its way down the refereeing chain to make the job of junior colleagues very difficult. At last Jon Moss is a referee who is prepared to stand up and take appropriate action. We desperately need more referees to take action against such behaviour.

As a villa fan i was pleased that we dodged the Maupay bullet when he was linked as a potential signing
Two seasons ago, poss lazy journalism as Smith managed him at Brentford. Good to see Moss make a stand, when most dont, however i wonder if certain other players from the elite super league six would have received a similar fate?

Not my favourite referee but has handled this well. Got the dunk RC correct as well

What on earth was Maupay thinking about? The red card for Dunk, which changed the course of the game, was spot on and nobody in the Brighton side had cause for complaint on that one. So why did Maupay think it was OK to abuse the ref at the final whistle? I despair!

I believe I saw a Brighton fan on Twitter arguing that whatever was said was probably deserved because Maupay was 'fouled' in the build up to one of Wolves' goals

Maupay has had a misconduct charge on top of the automatic two matches for the red card!
