Decent enough so far but what an impressive advantage for Villa’s third - would’ve been so easy to award the foul earlier!

Easiest red card he’s likely to have to give in the premier league! Excellent match, very well refereed! It’s about time he featured in the PL regularly as he is clearly a talented official!

Thought he refereed this one excellently. Added great value to the game.

Just a minor one...
Did anyone notice the ID free kick that should have been given where an attacker stood in the wall with 3+ players in it? He was originally standing with the kicker and before it was played he then moved to interfere with the defensive wall. Interesting one that you don't see very often.

I haven’t seen the game, but the correspondents seem to be in agreement that Gillett was in full control, even when it got a bit tetchy towards the end. If an official can contribute to a great game of football as this surely was, and stay in the background and only contribute when called upon, that is the sign of a top class official.

I have seen him twice this season “live” on TV and his match control, easy rapport and respect from the players is undoubted. This was a match that tested his abilities and he seemed up to the job.

Only saw the highlights, but from what I saw Jarred looked very comfortable and at home in the premier. Fantastic advantage played leading to a goal and a second yellow that was spot on. Very impressed.

Gillett allowed the game to flow, not always consistent with his foul detection, brilliant advantage for villa goal.
He seemed relaxed and in control until just after he issued the red card, which was spot on, easiest decision he will have to give.
Players on both sides didnt help him in the period after the red card was issued, too many hit headed tempers and handbags.
Gillett didnt endear himself to the home crowd, but this villa fan couldnt find too much wrong with his performance.

Interesting game, draw probably a fair result, coutinho was outstanding in the game where neither team were adept at defending.

Only watched the highlights but same as everyone else. Great rapport and brilliant confidence. Hope he is going to be a world class official and should easily be fifa listed (again) when Tierney or anyone else leaves.
For the advantage, wow, he could have easily blown for the foul, and I'm sure 99% of other refs, including me, would have blown for it within that 5 seconds he could have.

Should be getting more games imo, easily as competent as the likes of Stuart Atwell and Paul Tierney

And good communication and rapport with the players as seen in the below video

and the irony is the number two Ref from Queensland who was behind Jared in Australia is about to referee the Club World Cup Final after doing the Olympic Final. Funny how things work.

I've been very impressed with what I've seen so far of Jarred this season and this game only added to that, obviously every game in the premier league is a "big game" but hopefully we start to see him involved with some of the "bigger" teams in the league and see how he copes.
