J SIMPSON - Stoke v WBA

Not a particularly good start from Simpson, inside 10 minutes Livermore extremely lucky to avoid an early bath for a nasty leg breaking challenge which was unpunished.

I still can't understand how Simpson gets these big games.

Haven't seen it as on train home from my game. Whose leg did he break?

It wasn't a leg break itself but it was one of those nasty studs up challenges on the shin on Sam Vokes. Not pretty at all.

I should have put 'potential' leg breaking challenge in my original post...

And there was me wondering who wouldn't be playing at Ipswich next week   ......... getting desperate.

Needed help from the lino or 4th for the tackle (although cannot believe he didnt even see it as a foul).
Missed handball for a penalty, definitely referee's decision.
As much as we can applaud/appreciate Livermore's actions when fouled by Stoke player, I still thought it was a yellow

Apparently Simpson finished third in the merit table behind Coote and Hooper and just missed out on a PL trial game...

AJB95 I’m not sure that’s true from what I was told... my understanding is that the EFL Play Offs are always appointed based on merit table positions...

It's 10th February, not 1st April.

Last season - emphasis on the finished - past tense!

The point still stands.

Incredible if true but it would account for how he seems to get good appointments in the Championship.   But who on earth keeps giving him high marks?
