General football match information
« on: Tue 24 Nov 2020 13:18 »
Do any other RTR members gather all information on matches of the club they follow, it would be great to liaise with others, I gather everything, from goal times, substitute times, half time scores, kick off times, unused subs (struggle with opponents unused subs), referees, linesmen / assistant refs, 4th officials (these are difficult as few programmes published them and no online resource), now VAR and assistant VAR, yellow and red card times

2 refs I can't find is Leeds v Boothtown & Leeds Steelworks due to them being extra qualifying and qualifying rounds in 1920

I can help others as I have done before.

I think I've got the 1952 programme, so I might be able to name the linesmen. I'll look tonight.

And I virtually wrote the 2014 programme!

You've omitted the League Cup tie in 1977/78, but again, I've got the programme and plenty of newspaper cuttings.

Hmmm 1977/78 ? Wasn't that the year Rochdale finished bottom and the team above them, Southport, were relegated.

Some things don't change for the better but the end of re-election was a massive improvement !

PS I hasten to add that Rochdale were but one of a number of clubs who benefitted from this unjust system in place for many years.

Well yes, but contrary to popular belief, a couple of other clubs applied for re-election more times than our six applications, with Hartlepool chalking up a magnificent 11 trips to Lytham St Annes.

Just looked, I only have an image of the 1952 programme cover, but I can try to find someone with a physical copy if you still need the linesmen.

Indeed, and Hartlepool actually survived no less than 14 re-elections.
