Fulham v Arsenal - David Coote
« on: Sun 12 Mar 2023 17:01 »
Bar a ridiculous and comical error at the end, Coote otherwise did very well in what was an easy match to referee overall, not helped by Fulham's generosity in the first half.

Not sure how he (or the AR) managed to award a free-kick when the Arsenal player fell over without being anywhere near the Fulham defender, but thankfully this didn't have any bearing on the match

Just home from the game, Coote won’t get an easier afternoon than that all season! But he did very well, no complaints at all from me. I know he’s not a favourite on here, but have to say he’s always been competent in Fulham games.
Wish I could say my team were competent but that was abysmal! Arsenal very good though to be fair.

Coote was in the background and anonymous which you like to see in a referee only 1 yellow and that was for our skipper for preventing a counter attack so deserved, the only real issue I have is not that it matters we won quite convincingly and probably should of won by more with the chances we had, but I think our disallowed goal was borderline and not as big a difference as the sky pictures shown, it looks like Robinson played Martinelli on side before Martinelli shot and the rebound went in off Robinson, but other than that faultless

Sorry but there is no borderline on offsides checked via var it is black or white as per the rules all teams signed up to, one proviso ofc the humans have to draws the lines against the last defender correctly.

You missed the ludicrous free-kick then ? ....... albeit of no consequence.

It was at the end of the game was going to not make a blind bit of difference anyhow but yeah was shocked when I seen us taking a free kick for that
