Felcsút v Vidi
« on: Sat 15 Sep 2018 20:09 »
Yes I know none of you are interested in the NB1 but we had a 'fun' end to this one.

Felcsút (named Puskás Akadémia by the Prime Minister to the fury of everyone in Hungary bar him & referred to by their proper name of Felcsút by everyone else...) are the most hated team in Hungary. They are the MK Dons of Hungary to use an analogy we all understand! They have one of the most beautiful grounds in the world, conveniently build just yards away from the Prime Ministers home - you get the picture! They are meant to be the academy team of Vidi, the reigning champs, but have an average age of 29 I think it is & a big fat zero academy players! Today they played Vidi, who are ground sharing with them until their new ground is finished. Vidi are actually the PM's team.

The game was decent actually. Horrific injury to Kovácsik, Vidi's goalkeeper. Treatment went on for about 6/7 mins before he was carried off with a neck brace on, strapped down heavily on a body board and wearing an oxygen mask. He was loaded straight into an ambulance that was waiting at the side of the pitch doors open ready. None of us know if he moved at all during treatment as he was completely surrounded by the ambulance staff and both sets of club medics, players from both teams were also helping to move him onto the body board. Really really hoping it wasn't as serious as it looked. Kovácsik is a great goalie but even with that aside, it's not nice to see for any player. Vidi were 1-0 up at the time. Tujvel replaced him and Felcsút got the game to them being 2-1 up.

With 10 mins and 31 seconds of 9 mins TAO gone, ref was right to increase the TAO it should be said, the ref Szöts Gergely gave a correct pen to Vidi. It was saved & the final whistle immediately went. Not quite sure what happened but it kicked right off, Hadzic was going mad af something first then Scepovic lost it - every single player & both benches were involved. The vast majority trying to break it up but a few of the others joining in.  bmb's favourite ref Solymosi Péter was pushed at least twice, once I can almost forgive as the Vidi player was trying to get ahold of Scepovic who was in the process of shoving Felcsúts manager Miklós Benczés to the ground. Kepe Arnold the 4th official was pushed and shoved several times, he also gave 1 great shove back to a Vidi player trying to get at Miklós Benczés. All 5 match officials were right in the middle of it trying to break it up & calm it down - not one where they could have just stepped back & watched until it calmed down I don't think. For a start when it 1st went off the 4O was stuck in the middle as it started in the tech area - he disappeared in amongst the players & was being pushed back & forth, they had to get in to help him. Scepovic then went tearing down the tunnel followed by several other players & judging by the speed the match officials shot after them all it was obviously all kicking off in there as well. Disgraceful scenes & not the first time after a Vidi game this season. Hope the MLSz throw the book at them, they probably won't though as they are our token team in Europe... At least 3 of the match officials were pushed at some point, the 4th official bearing the brunt of it.

The 2nd video in the report on our sports website shows some of it. https://www.m4sport.hu/magyar-foci/cikk/2018/09/15/a-bajnok-vidi-ellen-szerezte-meg-elso-gyozelmet-a-puskas I've seen the footage from all the other cameras as well. Disgraceful.

That all looked pretty nasty. Are Vidi a rather unpleasant team then.

They haven't really been before. They can be a bit of a cheaty team, Danko Lazovic is nicknamed the fish for a very good reason! Go and search for him on youtube - the footage of him in the Honved game is a classic!! They do all to often go to ground a bit too easily and do whinge and whine on the pitch a bit too much for no reason but they're a great team to watch, when they just get on and play. They play lovely football & their manager Marco Nikolic is absolutely lovely. He's a Serbian, very popular and is always so calm, classy and respectful in interviews. I think perhaps the strain of a European run might be getting to them a bit - Hungarian teams are normally out by now! It is an exception rather than the rule to be honest. I gather from all accounts that Felcsút were the instigators in it all, which does not come as a surprise. They are a vile, rotten team from top to bottom.

József Varga the bald headed player in yellow who was giving it large in the tech area played for Vidi last season, he was also giving it large to Scepovic when the penalty was saved apparently. Obviously no love lost for his old team. Someone from the Felcsút bench said something to Hadzic who is the player the 4th official is shepherding off just before it all kicks off, he tried to get at them but rewatching it seems coaching staff were able to get him down the tunnel before it actually all went off, so he wasn't involved in that part. Scepovic was clearly after Varga, he seems to have pushed Miklos Benczés more to get him out of his way than anything as he was trying to stop him getting at Varga. Varga after giving it large to the Vidi bench, seems to realise Scepovic is after him & shoots off down the tunnel. That is why Scepovic suddenly breaks away from everyone and sprints into the tunnel. There is a joke amongst Vidi fans that it is the fastest they have Scepovic move all season and they are more surprised that he is capable of sprinting than anything else!! I am told by one of my friends who works at Vidi that thankfully Scepovic did not manage to get hold of Varga. I am also told that despite being pushed a few time, all of team ref were unharmed.

It's a shame it ended that way. The only story that should be being reported is the awful injury to Kovácsik. It looked horrendous. I have seen more footage now and it looks like Trajkovski from Felcsút kicked him full on in the face as they both went for the ball. It wasn't malicious, it was an accident, Trajkovski went to kick the ball just as Kovácsik dived and he ended up taking the full force of the kick. The other footage does show him moving slightly and shows blood pouring from either his nose or mouth, hard to determine which but there was a lot of it. Vinicius took one look at him and started screaming for the medics straight away, the ambulance staff came on pretty quickly. He was out cold momentarily but you can see in the video that he was sitting up with help but you can see where he passes out again, the medics were pouring water over him at the time & trying to hold him up. Csakfoci are saying he had a concussion and has been hospitalised but there is no skull fracture thankfully. I think from what Marko Nikolic says in the article he may have some broken teeth though! Get well soon Ádám.

Update on Kovácsik - He has had to have 3 teeth removed and had concussion. Thankfully nothing but 3 teeth broken! He is ruled out of the Europa League match on Thursday though which is a huge blow to Vidi. Tujvel is a good keeper but he is no Kovácsik, who is probably one of the best keepers in Hungary. Jobbulást Ádám.

I'm not usually an advocate of a referee getting hands on like that, but he has probably stopped it from getting even worse with his approach.

It was the 4th official as opposed to the ref and yes I am of the same opinion. He's one of the officials in a +1 year, they finally scrapped the enforced retirement at age 45 in December. 2 of the officials there would have been retired if they hadn't have! Very experienced AR & probably has a pretty good working relationship with the players & those on the benches built up over the years so perhaps got away with more than some of the younger officials (like the ref in this game) would have. There is one photo where he looks quite aggressive when it's looked at on its own and not in the context of what was going on. I don't think he had any other choice to be honest - he was caught right in the middle as the swarm of players & those from the benches first went off. He had tried to shepherd Hadzic off the pitch when the Felcsút bench started to taunt him and therefore stop it all going off. The MLSz have started an investigation into it & I hope they throw the book at both clubs.

Interestingly the player that pulled Hazdic away from the 4th official and prevented him from getting him down the tunnel without further incident, has had his contract terminated, I am told on Saturday, although it did not come out until yesterday. Reports say it was by "mutual consent" and we all know what that translates as! He announced his retirement & is already back in Serbia. I shall miss his frequent fish out of water impressions!!! NOT!

This is the photo I mentioned, featuring the 2 officials at the match in +1 years. The one on the right is bmb's fav ref in Hungary! They're trying to stop Varga from going back to get involved, he was the player the Vidi players were after!
