Derby Vs Torquay FA Cup

Not sure if anyone saw this game or not but the AR Wigglesworth went down injured just after HT which meant the 4th Official came on.

Not sure who the 4th was but they took a long time faffing around with the comms before coming onto the pitch which led to players and spectators becoming frustrated.

I hope that the AR didn't feel this injury first half and tried to carry on. The sensible thing would have been to get this sorted and resolved at half time.

Richard Wigglesworth went off injured in the first half of a match I attended at Peterborough in mid September.  On that occasion there was minimal faffing around.  He took over as fourth official until half time when Josh Smith was hoicked out of the crowd to perform board duties.

Difference in the comms for 4O and AR, the 4O comms they have to press a button to be able to speak, the AR they don't, perhaps that was the hold up.

They must have swapped comms kits, otherwise the replacement AR would have had to press to talk any time he wanted to speak to the referee.  Unless there were just seconds left there is no way they would have done that.

From what i saw on the tv, the fourth official appeared to have to remove the top part of his kit and
Appeared to be struggling to get his comms kit on and working prior to replacing his top, so i would assume that they did indeed swap comms kits.
