Darren England Wolves v Burnley

I thought that whole incident was dealt with very well by England. He made a great decision to not award a penalty for not enough contact and then him and Oliver made the correct descion to give no red card.

Without sounding all Ted Hastings the letter of the law suggests that Traore should have been sent off. England had a good game in my book but it was an easy game to referee as wolves had their sandals on

I may be the only person who does not know, but who is Ted Hastings, please?

You are quite right - not my sort of thing at all, though everyone seems to be raving about ut. Thanks for the clarification, though.

You and me both JCFC.  I am thinking of wearing a placard around my neck saying ' I do not watch Line of Duty, I know little and care less whatever happens in it'.  It must be a very successful TV series though because almost everybody seems to be talking about it. My interest in police television ended with Dixon of Dock Green; actually not strictly true. I did enjoy the early series of Morse until it all became too formulaic. For crime genre, give me Lord Peter Wimsey every time.

Evening all !

I quite enjoyed the Inspector Alleyn Mysteries with Patrick Malahide Whistleblower.

We seem to have moved away somewhat from Darren England who for the record I felt did pretty well sorting out the fracas and contenting himself with cautions rather than red cards.  VAR thankfully, while obviously checking, wisely didn't interfere further.

ps.  Indeed Hendo - Foyle was another good series.

I also thought that Darren England handled the fracas very well because it really was something and nothing all caused by Podence trying to get a penalty and then feigning injury which, after comments he made when Burnley played Wolves earlier in the season, annoyed Tarkowski who needlessly tried to help him up. He too exception to that and the fracas occurred. How much he saw of the Traore incident, when he pushed Jack Cork away with a straight arm under the chin, I do not know, however, there really was nothing in it and I was happy that VAR did not get involved further. A yellow for Tarkowski and the same for Traore were the correct call as far as I am concerned.
Having said that, quite a number of Burnley fans are moaning that Traore was not dismissed, however, as someone who has supported teh club for 69 years, that is certainly nothing new. It doesn't matter who is officiating our games ---they are always rubbish ---even before they take the field!
Referee's decision used to be final!

Jesus, Mary & Joseph and the wee donkey! I can't believe you lot. Line of Duty is worth it for the Tedism's alone!  Adrian Dunbar is just superb. I only watch 2 shows on TV - DIY SOS & Line of Duty! Although I'd be tempted to watch anything else written by Jed Mercurio, oh for 5 mins in his head!!
