István was subjected to a whole load of vile xenophobic anti Hungarian abuse today in his game.
Correct red card for DOGSO after 8 mins for a home team player & the crowd behind the goalie went mental. They were throwing things at him and there were very loud anti Hungarian chants. The players were trying to shut the fans up but he ended up taking them over to the side of the pitch and holding them by the dugouts for their safety. There was a tannoy announcement which I suspect said stop throwing things or the players will be taken off the pitch completely, sort of thing. I don't speak Romanian although I do recognise certain words, 3 of which I was appalled to hear at a game today. It was obvious István had heard them as well, there was a momentarily look of hurt/despair before he composed himself again. Immense mental strength from him to carry on the game and put in such an absolutely excellent performance. The commentator from digisport confirmed there was xenophobic chants.
The FRF will take action, they are very good at doing so. Alex Deaconu and Kyros Vassaras in particular will be very disappointed (well more likely furious actually...) that it has happened. They along with many good people at the FRF have put in a lot of hard work towards cutting it out of the game there.
Nagyszerű vagy, István! Én büszke vagyok rád
