Following on from the govt and the fa’s announcement today - what does it mean for the other fa comps like trophy vase and youth cup??
I have a vase game on sat and a youth cup game next week??

Unfortunately our local U7’s to U11s league i help run has had to stop for a month 😞

I must admit I'm still somewhat confused by the SPL / SFA attitude to players who are ineligible because of Covid regulations.  Aberdeen and Celtic has their games postponed whilst other clubs have had to default or bring in an emergency goalkeeper on loan.  At least, I suppose, it is something that Rangers have suspended two players for breaches of Covid regulations (though whether the suspensions will actually last longer than their self isolation remains to be seen).

Hungary now back into lockdown. The borders have been shut for 2 months but lockdown now back as well.

PM Orbán announces new restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Here’s a complete list
In a video posted on his Facebook page, PM Orbán announced that the government proposes a set of new restrictions, including a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., the closing of restaurants and bars, a comprehensive ban on events, and a requirement for high schools and universities to switch to e-learning.

CORONAVIRUS
In a video posted on his Facebook page this morning, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that, as the course of the pandemic in Hungary usually follows the Austrian trends by one or two weeks, Hungary must adopt a new list of restrictive measures, similar to those put in place in Austria, in order to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

“Although our hospitals have been prepared and there is an abundance of equipment, including beds, ventilators, masks, and protective gear, and despite our doctors and nurses performing on a superhuman level, they are still people and their number is finite,” PM Orbán said, adding that this “burden” must be eased by slowing down the spread of the virus with restrictive measures.

The government will ask the Hungarian Parliament tomorrow to grant another 90 days of extraordinary powers, and Hungary plans to introduce the following measures to take effect at midnight on November 11:

A curfew will be instated between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

All forms of assembly will be forbidden.

Restaurants must close, but food delivery will remain possible.

Shops and services (e.g., hairdressers) must close by 7 p.m.

Hotels may only host business travelers.

There will be a general ban on events.

Family gatherings and private events may only be attended by a maximum of 10 people.

All sporting events must take place behind closed doors, without spectators.

Individual sports activitieswill be possible outdoors, but amateur team sports will be forbidden.

Extracurricular facilities, including gyms, indoor swimming pools, museums, theaters and zoos, must close.

Higher education may be continued only in an online format, and university dormitories will be closed.

Digital curriculum will be reintroduced above the 8th grade in high schools (for kids, typically, 14 years old and over).

Kindergartens, nurseries and primary schools will stay open for children under 14.

Hospital workers, teachers, and nursery and kindergarten staff will be tested weekly.

The state will reimburse hotels 80 percent of the value of bookings made for the next 30 days before November 8, on the condition that hotels will not lay off workers and continue to pay their salaries.

Employers will get a 30-day exemption from having to pay social contributions for staff at restaurants and facilities for extracurricular activities. Also, the state will cover 50 percent of these employees’ salaries on the condition that employees keep their jobs and continue receiving their salaries.

These measures will be in effect for 30 days.

Good news coming out about a vaccine

https://twitter.com/AP/status/1325773819710214144

Still needs peer approval before it can start to be rolled out but it does give light at the end of the tunnel. Kudos to all of the scientists who have been working hard to achieve this.

Still questions to be answered about it's safety for the aged and the different ethnicities but at least we can see progression.

Very true, however, if they test it on all the heads of government and the heads of their opposition throughout the world that should cover a wide spread of ages and ethnicities. If they survive OK they could then put their seal of approval on the vaccine with tthe certainty that it works!  ;D
Referee's decision used to be final!

Remembering that the vaccine isn't a quick fix and that we still have a long way to go.

Indeed this is merely the first step. Even if it gets the peer approval in record time it will be end of the year/early new year before it even starts to be handed out I would think. Likely to go to the most vulnerable initially although, despite falling into one of the shielded groups I would rather see it go to NHS staff, police, fire, ambulance etc first. Full roll out is unlikely to happen before spring or even summer. We could still be looking at as much as a year before things really start to return to normal or whatever normal even is now! Even if that is the case though and we all know that all we are waiting for is the vaccine being mass produced, handed out & given whatever time it needs to work (I'm not sure how global mass vaccinating works) it's a huge boost psychologically. There is a light appearing at the end of the tunnel and science is starting to win. It gives people hope & focus, no more round and round in circles wondering if it will ever end!

Moldova has suspended its top league temporarily due to a covid spike. Lower league were already suspended.  Actually it might be Macedonia not Moldova! One of them anyway!  :-[

Crewe Alex's Perry Ng has been banned for six games for spitting water over the Cheltenham coach at the end of last Saturday's FA Cup tie which Cheltenham won 2-1 aet. In the present circumstances, I agree fully with the FA's decision and length of ban which sends out a clear message to players during the present Covid health crisis.

What a complete idiot and potentially a dangerous one. If he deliberately aimed the water at the Cheltenham coach then I would have given him a lot more than six games.
