The Sun - reliable as always - reports that those of 70 years and over may be banned from PL games to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Oh ****, if only I had been born six months later. And where does that leave Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park? Hopefully, the ban will not extend to L2 as Gresty Road will end up with few spectators as Crewe push for promotion
Three of us, with over 210 collective years supporting Burnley, were discussing this at the match on Saturday.
One of our party is in his late 70s and is a specialist at one of the Manchcester hospitals and has been told that he will have to shave his beard off in case he needs to wear a mask to treat people with the virus. Meanwhile, those who have a beard for religious reasons do not need to do this and will not be utilised to treat those people. Needless to say, he is not impressed with the fact that he would be deemed fit to treat these people, however, should this be brought in, he would be banned from watching his team play football!
They could not enforce this in my opinion because it would need a new law to be brought into force. All of us travel some distance to attend the matches and wonder if we would be arrested if we turned up and what would they charge us with? Can of worms which could only be resolved with a total ban on attendance at all games for all fans.
Que sera, sera! Stay safe follks.
