Thought the officials travelled together to avoid this happening?
Do they not make their own way to a designated meeting point and then travel together from there?
Yes they do. They meet at a particular hotel, however long before a game & then travel in a car provided by the PL from the hotel to the ground about 90 mins before the game & back to the hotel post match and then travel home separately from there. Obviously he was stuck in traffic on the way to the hotel & let whoever know that he was not going to make it and contingency plans were put in place. I expect he drove straight to the ground in this instance.
