AT, I think my earlier remarks aimed for brevity at the expense of clarity.

Crewe look like a decent side, when allowed to play football and the youngster Ainley showed a lot of promise. On another day, Rovers might have got something from the game, but I didn't leave the ground feeling we were robbed, or attach any blame to Mr Boyeson and team for the outcome..

It was my 3rd visit to Gresty Road. The first was a Man City game, with Paul Danson as referee, re-arranged after the initial date cancelled due to a frozen pitch, can't recall the stand. More recently, in the stand we were in Saturday a 0-0 with Robert Madley in the middle, about 6 years ago. This time, there were very thorough body searches to get into the ground, unusual for a L2 game where there hasn't been a history of trouble. Maybe they do it to every visiting fan now, don't recall similar on my last trip.

As well as missing some of the incidents on the opposite end of the pitch, didn't spot the blue flare. It might have explained the stewards being edgy, I was made aware of one fan being slapped by a steward. The bad behaviour, sadly, was all from the Tranmere fans, including the unacceptable abuse of the AR in front of the stand, but the stewards ought to have seen who was responsible for that and taken action.

Hope you're right about a return fixture in L1  ;)
