Solid first half in a so far not challenging match.

A dream final to referee. Excellent from all the officials and Coote was exemplary on the numbers board too.

Even the very easiest games can be messed up. Craig and his team didn’t do that, they got the yellow card and the penalty appeal spot on. You can only referee what is in front of you and Craig did that excellently. Delighted for all the officials, I think exactly the final they would have wanted.

I liked the commendation given by the BBC1 commentator as Craig and team went up for their medals. Well said and well deserved.

In days gone by, the referee and linesmen were offered money as an alternative to a medal. I assume this practice is not followed now! Also, the London RA used to put on an Eve-of-Final 'do' for the ref and linesmen, and I wonder whether this has been resumed following the pandemic.

Very good game from Mr Pawson with no need for Tierney and Bennett to do anything.

Only thing I noticed was Coote appeared to be smiling and laughing with Tuchel while salah was going off injured, which isn’t a good look. He also got the numbers wrong/ chelsea changed their mind as to who was coming off

Well done to Craig Pawson who had a great game.

I agree with all the comments here, great team performance by the officials, if only it was always like this.

If you put in that sort of performance in a Cup Final you can be very very satisfied. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Career defining.
Well done to all the officials.

The latter is worthy of comment, the former not so much. I dont think anyone would look at that and think Coote and Tuchel are laughing at Salah.

I agree I just don’t think it’s a good look for an official and don’t think they should be laughing with the managers during a game

Your comment is completely ridiculous.

I have absolutely no problem, referee, AR or fourth sharing a laugh, joke and or empathy in any situation if it helps manage that game. We are not robots, we are humans and it goes a long way. Nobody has a clue what was being said and nobody, from any sides, would have had an issue, unless they’re looking for trouble and something to pick fault - when there is none…
