Personally I hope it is season over for both of them.

I would go as far to suggest that Fulham should get rid of Mitrovic in the summer…. I wouldn’t have any problem with that.

Well done to the FA who have joined Kav in the act of bravery this evening:

https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2023/march/20/fa-statement/

The statement regarding Mitrovic in particular is extremely saddening yet at least it looks like, for once, APPROPRIATE action will be taken by the FA.

If the FA (rightly) say that the standard ban for VC is clearly insufficient, then it should be well beyond 3 games. Add in the following language they refer to (and his failure to leave the field straight away), he should get 8+ games just to make it match what the FA itself has said. Let’s wait and see…!

We went from being passionless and rolling over and dying under Parker, to being a real team with passion under Silva. Yes, we went too far but I'd rather what we have now, than what we had under Parker. This was Mitro's first ever red card for Fulham, let's not go overboard?

It might be his first red card for Fulham, but it is for violent conduct to a match official, fruity language, aggressive gestures all topped of with a failure to promptly leave the field of play.  Its clear who has already gone overboard and any sanction that permits him back onto the field of play this season would - in my opinion - be too lenient.

First card or not, you would no expect someone with previously unblemished criminal record to get a suspended sentence for murder. A slight exaggeration to make the point, but Mitrovic and all players should know what the bounds of acceptability are and that "emotions because football is an emotional game" are no excuse.
As I said earlier, it is a shame Fulham did not post on their website an apology - to their fans and to the football public in general. And what about the referee? Fulham's reputation by two individuals has been trashed but self awareness has never been part of the game has it?

To be fair Takethejag's comments refer to the idea of Fulham selling/sacking Mitrovic as far as I can make out rather than anything to do with the length of suspension.

A different sort of suspended sentence was once the norm for murder. Fortunately those days are long past now.

Yes exactly, I was disagreeing with TTFL who thinks Fulham should show Mitrovic the door. He has made a bad mistake, but he has also been fundamental to our recent success and deserves a second chance and rehabilitation once he has served whatever punishment is deemed fair

It's somewhat reassuring to see that Manchester United have also been charged now in relation to their players surrounding the referee on Sunday. It doesn't make any of it right or better, but at least it makes me feel that there is semblance of consistency and no-one is above the rules.

Silva and Mitrovic have apologised to Chris Kavanagh

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11916131/amp/Aleksandar-Mitrovic-Marco-Silva-APOLOGISE-referee-Chris-Kavanagh.html

Should I be generous and think "Well done for apologising" or should I be cynical and think "You're only apologising because your cases are probably coming up soon and you're hoping an apology will procure a lighter sentence"? Moral dilemma.
