Rubbish. That does not always happen. Was the ball on target, did it hit player's knee? Referees should never guess.

Sadly he misses a clear penalty and red card in real time and depends on VAR. Not defending the actions of the manager or the striker but if the official does his job properly in the first place, the madness that occurred doesn't happen.. before people have a go at me, I'm not condoning what happened.. Should be lengthy bans but he has to see the initial incident himself.

Oh yes, the old ‘the referee should see everything perfectly and should never miss anything’ argument. Bravo

Give it a break.. He should spot the handball.

And of course, if he had ‘the madness that occurred doesn’t happen’. So you are 100% blaming the referee for the behaviour of the players. You have no idea what would’ve happened had he spotted it in real time, but don’t let that fact cloud your argument that everything was the referee’s fault.

I think in the context of Fernandes with Adam Nunn the other week imo Fernandes used more force and received no sanction I don’t condone it nor do I condone mitrovic’s actions he can feel hard done by , but that said Kavanagh was spot on with his sanctions

Slightly off topic.. this must be a record for people viewing posts on one thread!

I’m thinking Paolo Di Canio all over again.

He doesn't have x-ray vision, can't see through Willian's body.  Perhaps with the old diagonal style of positioning he might have had a chance to see it, but not now they are more central.

Give it a break.. He should spot the handball.

Haven’t seen the incidents that have occurred but it’s very refreshing to hear a referee take the appropriate action against players/management who act in a very unpleasant fashion.

The players and management have let their club down with a shocking display of misbehaviour and Chris Kavanagh has set the perfect example to ALL referees on how to deal with misbehaviour.

Now this has to apply across the board, at all levels and officials backed by the FA when they act. Or am I living in a utopian world?

Not sure what Mitrovic was doing or thought he was doing and he will have to face the consequences, BUT why didn't Fernandes get the same treatment against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago?

My only complaint, Antony kicked out at Robinson off the ball with literally his first kick but no sanction at all?

Fulham were the better side up til that poinr but have pushed the self-destruct which will also affect their next league games

Now that we are praising a referee for taking strong action I very much look forward to this continuing and referees dealing strongly with the regular antics of Fernandes who week by week seems to get away with diving, petulant behaviour and complaints to referees.
Won’t hold my breath though……

The referee from his position must have had doubts as whether it was handball or not or if there were mitigating circumstances.
The referee was perfectly correct not give the penalty if there was any doubt in his mind and also i would say from his position he would probably not be able to see if the ball was going in to the goal.
Having watched a few replays i was still asking where on the arm the ball hit him and also had it rebounded off his knee.

Correct decision reached in the end i think, but then again who knows what is handball nowadays.
The red for Willian was correct, his facial expression gave the impression he knew what he had done.
There is no criticism whatsoever about the referees positioning.

Brilliant from Kavanagh to bin Silva prob for foul and abusive language as well as entering the referees space when in the var area.
Silva deserves a few weeks in the stands.

Mitrovic acted despicably, my thoughts about him are better being kept to myself, but i reckon Kavanaghs actions wete magnificent in the circumstances.
Mitrovic needs a lengthy ban, and not just an additional game added to the three games, however i dont have faith in the fa to act accordingly.

My thoughts are with Kavanagh and his family at this time, especially on mothering sunday.

Striking a match official carries a 12 match ban… I don’t think it can be construed as striking a match official.

However, I hope for the sake of the game they go hard on Mitrovic and that ANY contact with a match official going forward should be red carded.

I’ve never been as embarrassed to be a Fulham fan as I am this evening. And that is after being so proud of that performance for 75 minutes. But forget the performance, those antics from Silva and Mitrovic are utterly abhorrent. Silva has been at it all season and deserves a massive ban, and although I love Fulham with all my heart I genuinely hope we get the biggest fine possible.
Kavanagh was exceptional all game, a brilliant performance. And Chris, if you do happen to read this board, on behalf of all decent Fulham fans, and there’s plenty of us, I’d like to wholeheartedly apologise.
I genuinely feel broken right now by what I’ve just witnessed. Absolutely gutted. And I’m not talking about the result, some things are more important than that.

These type of incidents happen week in week out in grassroots football, I hope for the sake of all grassroots referee's the FA take the appropriate action and send a message to football at all levels that this type of behavior will no longer be tolerated. But as a earlier poster said don't hold your breath.....

The antics of Silva and Mitrovic send out the wrong impression to grassroots football they appeared to act like overgrown thugs, i hope they are both charged with bringing the game into disrepute. I feel and fear for referees on the local park after watching those actions on live tv.

Give it a break yourself. It was a crowded box. His view was obstructed and he would need to be 100% sure which there is no way he could have been in real time. He doesn’t possess x-ray vision
Hajrá Lilák. Csak a Kispest. Hajrá Magyarok! Hajrá játékvezetői csapat! Soha ne add fel. Nincs sárga kérem!!! No Chris Kavanagh doesn't live in Ashton or even in the Greater Manchester area!!
